Rubber Ink Stamps
Ink stamps, ink rubber stamps, rubber ink stamps...... they're all the same thing, but when people say 'ink stamps' most are refering to self-inking stamps (the most common ones). these are the stamps that have an inbuilt stamp pad that re-inks the stamp face after every time you press the stamp to use it.
Other types include: wooden/plastic handle stamps and pre-inked stamps. The stamps with a handle use a stamp pad (the traditional type of ink stamp). They are still very popular, especially for art stamps where the detail of the stamp lends itself to being suited to a larger stamp face which is easier to apply more evenly.
Pre-inked stamps are the ones that have an ink reservior as part of the stamp itself. A perfect example would be the cylindrical stamps we all remember from school, like the 'star' or 'smiley face'. The pre-inked stamps are easy to use and deliver a consistently even ink coverage.
